Dave Lory has an in-depth understanding of the music business that
stems from a wealth of experience in several areas of the industry. He
is one of the few executives to have worked in every major genre of
popular music including rock, pop, country, folk, classical, jazz, hip-hop
and R&B. His resume includes being a musician, chairman to artist
management firms, heading international operations at a major record
label, starting up one of the most successful independent record
companies in the past decade, producing memorable live events, and
coordinating and managing large-scale international tours.

In April of 1999 Dave was recruited to join Danny Goldberg’s independent
label venture, Artemis Records. As Sr. Vice-President, Dave was
responsible for creating the company’s foundation in the areas of
production, A&R, international, publishing and human resources.
Artemis Records was voted Billboard magazine’s Independent Label of the Year for two years running (2000 and 2001).  During this same time period, Dave Lory was nominated two years in a row as a finalist at the Pollstar Awards as “Artist Development Executive of the Year”.

Prior to coming to Artemis and his conception of Worldwide Entertainment Group, Lory was Vice President of international marketing and artist development at Mercury Records. He helped break and revive the careers of Cake, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Richie Sambora, Elvis Costello and Lucinda Williams on an international level. Additionally, Lory turned both Shania Twain and Hanson into platinum selling, international superstars for the label.

Lory was also the Owner and Chairman/CEO of Worldwide Entertainment Group, Inc., a venture he set up to manage projects that coincided with his work at Artemis Records. He co-produced “The Songwriters Hall of Fame Dinner”, and was the international consultant for Kid Rock on Lava Records. Because of his past achievements, Dave was elected to the New York Chapter of N.A.R.A.S. (National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences) Board of Governors and also sat on the N.A.R.A.S committee for the New York Heroes Dinner.

Throughout his experience as a musician, tour manager, artist manager, international consultant and record company executive, Dave Lory has earned a reputation of integrity, honesty, artist friendliness, innovation in marketing, breaking new artists on a international level, and being both a motivator and mentor. It is because of these attributes that he has an in-depth understanding of the music industry and how it works. In turn, this reputation has solidified his profile as a successful and respected music industry executive.

In September 2009 after over 30 years in the music industry, Lory started DJL Music Productions LLC
as a company which does production of live shows, events and tour management, as he returns to
the roots of the entertainment industry he loves the most. The first client was the New Music Seminar
(NMS) and Lory has partnered with original NMS co-founder Tom Silverman of Tommy Boy in bringing
back what was the largest music conference in the world in the 80's and 90's to assist in launching
what will become the next NEW music business. Lory is the Co-Executive Director and Producer and
has produced events in New York City twice, Chicago and in 2010 and 2011, produced the New Music
Seminar in Los Angeles in association with the Grammys. Now after its national success over the first
two years, NMS is an annual event held every June during Independent Music Week in New York City.
This weeklong music festival in New York City called the New York Music Festival, encompasses a two
day Seminar and shows in over 15 venues in the New York metropolitan area nightly over the week of
festivities, including the Red Carpet Opening Night Party and a main focus on breaking new artists.

During the initial start-up of DJL, Lory tour managed the US Tour of Perez Hilton and in November
2009 through January 2010, Lory tour managed Semi Precious Weapons and coordinated Kid Cudi’s
tour, both of who were touring with Lady Gaga on her inagural North American theater tour. Most
recently Lory produced Secret Garden Party's launch in the US with a three day event in Southampton,
NY on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation called Escape to New York in August 2011. This three day
festival had four locations and included Glamour Camping, high end food vendors, art and cultural
activities in addition to main stream music and DJ's performing on multiple stages and locations
throughout the Hamptons.

Nick Wilson teamed up with DJL when he was approached by Lory to be the Northeast Marketing Coordinator for the 2010 NYC New Music Seminar. His work with the seminar led him to a position on the DJL team. He graduated last Spring from William Paterson University on a full-academic scholarship with a degree in Music Studies and Music Management.

Wilson was the president and founder of the Music and Entertainment Organization at WPU which has given him great experience in event production. It also allowed for him to participate in music industry events, such as the New Music Seminar 2009, the Future of Music Coalition, and the Millennium Music Conference. Wilson was given a Presidential Innovation scholarship to attend the NAMM show in Anaheim, CA in January, 2010. He was also the Entertainment Chairperson in the St. Jude Up Til' Dawn charity organization at WPU for the 2009-2010 year, helping the charity raise more than $12,000 for the children's hospital.
As an entrepreneur, Wilson started a practice in web design when he was 13, overseeing all web activity for a local radio equipment manufacturing company. He still does independent website design for music artists and various companies. He has done full independent management for his indie rock band, Escape Directors. With DJL, Nick has also assisted in the production of New Music Seminar LA '11 as well as the Escape2NY festival in August '11. Wilson looks forward to working in the music industry for the rest of his life.
